
Sheryl Crow
Born Feb. 11, 1962 in Kennet, Missouri, Sheryl Crow came from a musical background. She attended the University of Missouri and worked as an elementary school music teacher while exploring outlets for her interest in music. She moved to L.A. and began singing backup vocals for Michael Jackson then Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, George Harrison among others. She eventually landed her own recording contract with A&M and released her first album in Tuesday Night Music Club (1993). In 1996 she released Sheryl Crow and in 1998 The Globe Sessions.
The Wallflowers opened for Sheryl Crow during February 1997. Sheryl Crow and Jakob Dylan appeared on stage together several times harmonizing on songs such as "You're so Vain" and "The Weight". Sheryl and Jakob Dylan also appeared together onstage at the 1997 Grammies to present the award for Best New Artist (LeAnn Rimes won). In addition, on April 14, 1997, The Wallflowers and Crow appeared on VH-1 Honors program.
