The Wallflowers, The Iconic Alternative Rick Band
Originally known as The Apples, The Wallflowers formed in 1989 as an alternative rock band that was to become a favorite of people everywhere. Based out of Los Angeles, this band began playing at local clubs before getting their real start in 1992 when they released their self titled album under Virgin Records. Headed up by Jacob Dylan, this band produced singles like “One Headlight” and “6th Avenue Heartache”. Their album “Bringing Down the Horse” , released in 1996 under Interscope records, had them walk away with 2 grammy awards for Best Rock Song and Best Rock performance by a duo for “One Headlight”. Their second album was by far one of the fan favorites and their top selling album to date, having gone platinum four times and gaining them the recognition that they truly deserved.
Their five albums have been featured in movie soundtracks as well as television shows and commercials. Their video for “One Headlight” made the charts at 1 on VH1 and 5 on MTV. To date it is by far their most popular song. Most people who listened to alternative rock in the mid nineties still remember the lyrics to this extremely popular song and enjoy a nice nostalgic feeling when hearing it played on the radio. In the minds of their fans they will stay popular forever.
